When children, youth, and communities lack access to arts programming, they lose far more than music and dance experiences. They lose vital opportunities to build confidence, dedication, teamwork, and joy. Musicopia was founded in response to that loss.

Since its founding fifty years ago, Musicopia has maintained a steadfast commitment to creating access to the arts for all, regardless of circumstance. Founded in 1974 as an inโschool string program, Musicopia has evolved over time in response to the communities it serves. Over the years, the organization expanded beyond classrooms to include afterโschool and communityโbased programming, eventually encompassing both music and dance.
