Musicopia

We welcome volunteers ages 16 and up to support a variety of activities, including event help, thank‑you calls and notes, repairing or transporting donated instruments, and more.

Volunteers play an essential role in Musicopia’s community. By sharing your time and talents, you help support programs that bring music and dance into schools and neighborhoods across the region, while becoming part of the work itself!

In addition to making a difference, volunteers often gain a deeper understanding of Musicopia’s work, connect with Teaching Artists, staff, and fellow supporters, and experience the joy of contributing to creative, community‑centered programs.

Important Information

To ensure the safety of our students, staff, and partners, volunteers ages 18 and older must obtain required clearances before participating in any in‑person activities. You can learn more or begin your clearance process through the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services.

Clearances

To ensure the safety of our students, staff, and partners, a criminal background check is required before volunteers can serve. Volunteers are the lifeblood of Musicopia, so please take the time to complete this important process. Please attach a PDF, PNG, or JPEG of your Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police clearance, AND either your affirmation that you are not required to obtain an FBI clearance OR your FBI clearance (you were fingerprinted for this because you have lived outside Pennsylvania in the last ten years).
