Latin dance is a genre of partner dance that originated in Latin American. A combination of Native, African, and European influences give each Latin dance its unique style. Some styles covered include ChaCha, Merengue, Rumba, and Salsa.
To create a space of welcoming and belonging, we are able to adapt and adjust our approach for different learners and movers. Some of the ways we do this include: allowing movement to be executed from a seated position, classes can be instructed without the switching of dance partners, tempos can be slowed down, etc. Please contact us at danceinfo@musicopia.org with questions.
